Martin Gater     Head Teacher (Ex - Officio)

Member of Staff and Pupil Care Committee, Finance Committee and Admissions Committee.

I started teaching in 2002 and since then have worked in schools in Wokingham and Bracknell Forest. I am passionate about teaching and learning and the fact that we are all continuously learning. However, in order for children to learn they need to feel happy, valued, safe and secure.

I am married with a young child, who is starting school this year. That is all very exciting but does present its own worries too, as I am sure you will all understand. I am a big football and rugby fan and love going to watch live sporting events. I even went to a cricket match in the summer! I also enjoy going to the theatre, cinema, travelling, reading and relaxing with my family.

Ruth did work previously at St Sebastian’s school and so was able to become familiar with the school through the eyes of a teacher and as a parent. The one special thing that especially stands out to Ruth about St Sebastian’s school is its ethos which is at the very core of the school. Ruth is part of the Staff and Pupil Care with Health and Safety Committee.  She has a strong interest in children’s emotional health and wellbeing.
