Firefighter visit

We began our new topic with a look at the modern fire service. We were lucky enough to have a visit from a real life firefighter and crew manager!

The children had a good look at his kit and learned about modern fire safety.

hankfulness

Year Two have learned about the value of thankfulness as part of the school's JC Day celebrations! As part of this project, the children performed an assembly for the rest of the school.

We had a fantastic time on World Book Day!

We all dressed up as a character from a book, took character 'selfies', wrote book reviews and carried out a book scavenger hunt!

Watch our rehearsal below.

Take a look at our fantastic fire engines!

'We built our fire engines out of cardboard boxes, following our plans. First, Miss Hamshare helped us to use a junior hacksaw and cutting block to measure and cut our wooden axels. Then, we made holes in our boxes and attached the wheels to the box. After that, we painted our fire engines and added other details using modelling straws, pom poms, cardboard, paper and paint.'
