Inspiring and nurturing young hearts and minds

School Council

A school council is group of students who are elected to represent the views of all pupils and to improve their school.

Saint Sebastian's School Council has a boy and a girl representative from Years 1 -6. Reception children representatives join the School Council in the summer term.

Students are elected by their peers after making a presentation to their Year on how they feel they can represent their classes' views and ideas they have to make the school environment better for all children.

The School Council meets once every half term and is facilitated and guided by Mr. Rouse. Mary Unwin, School Governor, also attends the meetings.

Our Current School Councillors are :

Year 6 - Lucy and Ted

Year 5 - Gracie and Frankie

Year 4 - Darcy and Lucas

Year 3 - Zara and Stanley

Year 2 - Matilda and Jackson

Year 1 - Kitty and Freddie

Reception - Faith and Leon

So far this year we have focussed our attention on issues to do with catering , meeting with Caterlink to share concerns re school meals. In addition we have discussed opportunities to have more activities such as school discos and film nights.
