PE

Physical Education at St. Sebastian’s C of E Primary School and Nursery

At St. Sebastian’s, we believe PE is essential for promoting lifelong health and well-being. Our vision is to inspire every child to enjoy physical activity, develop skills, and understand the importance of staying active.

What We Offer:

  • A broad curriculum covering invasion games, gymnastics, dance, swimming, outdoor adventure, and more.
  • Two PE lessons weekly for KS1 and KS2, plus daily movement breaks.
  • Opportunities for teamwork, leadership, and competitive events in a supportive, inclusive environment.
  • Residential trips and Bikeability training for Year 6.
  • Swimming lessons for Key Stage 2 pupils.

Our Approach:

  • Lessons follow the National Curriculum using the Get Set 4 PE scheme.
  • Focus on skill development, tactics, and safe, respectful play.
  • Activities tailored for all abilities, promoting both physical and mental well-being.

Impact: By the time pupils leave St. Sebastian’s, they:

  • Understand how to lead a healthy lifestyle.
  • Appreciate the benefits of physical activity for body and mind.
  • Have developed confidence, teamwork, and a love for sport.

We aim for every child to enjoy PE and carry this enthusiasm into life beyond primary school.
